Foxwoods39 Norwich Westerly RoadMashantucket, Connecticut 06339 Owner: Mashantucket Pequot Tribe A Little About Foxwoods Foxwoods is my least favorite casino east of Imperial Palace. Cavernous and utterly devoid of character, their 325,000 square foot casino (the world's largest) still manages to trap all of the cigarette smoke at floor level. The cocktail service will convince you that there are, at most, 6 waitresses servicing the entire casino floor. The space is organized poorly, with enormous aisles surrounding cramped table game pits. $5 table games are practically unheard of here, and the few precious seats in the nonsmoking casino usually cost $15 per hand. Don't come to Foxwoods expecting to see any of the young, beautiful, affluent people from their TV commercials. The majority of the clientele hails from the rough-and-tumble suburbs of Massachusetts and Connecticut, with the occasional rude New Yorker thrown in. If you're looking for a place to get sworn at by some townie idiot who thinks you're screwing up his blackjack system, Foxwoods is the place for you. Submit your own comment on Foxwoods. |
