Crowded, loud and smoky, Foxwoods is probably my least favorite casino east of Imperial Palace. Foxwoods is home to the largest casino in the world, a mind-boggling 325,000 square feet. There are nearly 2,000 hotel rooms spread out between three towers. The standard rooms at Foxwoods are nothing to write home about. I've stayed in Holiday Inns that were just as nice. The amenities are sorely lacking, but they really don't want you spending a lot of time in your room. The dining is sub-par unless you're looking to spend $40 per person.
In spite of its gargantuan size, I have yet to find a good table game at Foxwoods. The table limits start at $5, but will jump to $10 faster than you can say "rip-off." They are not in the habit of grandfathering players at the limit they sat down at, either. The cocktail service will lead you to believe that they have, at most, 5 waitresses servicing the entire casino. And the clientele... oh, the clientele. In stark contrast to the young, beautiful people in their TV commercials, 95% of the guests at Foxwoods are over 40 and from the rough-and-tumble suburbs of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. If you like getting cussed out at the blackjack table by some loud-mouthed idiot who thinks you're screwing up his system, this is the place to be.
